  1. 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  2. 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  3. 1/3 cup sugar
  4. 3/4 teaspoon salt
  5. add 3 kernels corn to 1/4 cup oil and raise to med-high heat.
  6. when 3 kernels pop, turn oven off and add the 1/2 cup of corn and 1/3 cup of sugar.
  7. whisk together until combined, 30 seconds or so. return to med-high heat with
  8. lid on, shaking occasionally until popping stops. season with salt when done
