Created BREAKTHROUGH_IO_COMPARISON.md documenting: KEY FINDINGS: 1. I/O operations IDENTICAL between local and SeaweedFS 2. Spark df.write() WORKS perfectly (1260 bytes) 3. Spark df.read() WORKS in isolation 4. Issue is metadata visibility/timing, not data corruption ROOT CAUSE: - Writes complete successfully - File data is correct (1260 bytes) - Metadata may not be immediately visible after write - Spark reads before metadata fully committed - Results in 78-byte EOF error (stale metadata) SOLUTION: Implement explicit metadata sync/commit operation to ensure metadata visibility before close() returns. This is a solvable metadata consistency issue, not a fundamental I/O or Parquet integration problem. |
