  1. ## INSTALL
  2. #### Chromium
  3. - Download and unzip `nuTensor.chromium.zip` ([latest release desirable](https://github.com/geekprojects/nuTensor/releases)).
  4. - Rename the unzipped directory to `nuTensor`
  5. - When you later update manually, replace the **content** of the `nuTensor` folder with the **content** of the latest zipped version.
  6. - This will ensure that all the extension settings will be preserved
  7. - As long as the extension loads **from same folder path from which it was originally installed**, all your settings will be preserved.
  8. - Go to chromium/chrome *Extensions*.
  9. - Click to check *Developer mode*.
  10. - Click *Load unpacked extension...*.
  11. - In the file selector dialog:
  12. - Select the directory `nuTensor` which was created above.
  13. - Click *Open*.
  14. The extension will now be available in your chromium/chromium-based browser.
  15. Remember that you have to update manually also. For some users, updating manually is actually an advantage because:
  16. - You can update when **you** want
  17. - If ever a new version sucks, you can easily just re-install the previous one
  18. #### Firefox
  19. Although nuTensor is a restartless addon, I found that **installing** a newer version over an older one often will glitch the installation. These steps always worked fine:
  20. - Download `nuTensor.firefox.xpi` ([latest release desirable](https://github.com/geekprojects/nuTensor/releases)).
  21. - Uninstall current nuTensor if already installed
  22. - Quit Firefox completely
  23. - Launch Firefox
  24. - Drag and drop the previously downloaded `nuTensor.firefox.xpi` into Firefox
  25. nuTensor settings are kept intact even after you uninstall the addon.
  26. On Linux, the settings are saved in a SQlite file located at `~/.mozilla/firefox/[profile name]/extension-data/nuTensor.sqlite`.
  27. On Windows, the settings are saved in a SQlite file located at `%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[profile name]\extension-data\nuTensor.sqlite`.
